Old School Fire Starting - Hand Forged in Oregon, USA

This kit is ideal for those wishing to try their hand at old school fire starting. Be you an experienced outdoorsman or newbie. This could be a great gift for that budding outdoorsman, Boy or Girl Scout, groom's men or a class graduate.

Striker is hand forged from 1095 high carbon steel right here in my forge in Oregon, USA. The striker is sized to fit inside the tin box. Box is around the same size of a standard Altoid tin.

• Hudson Bay – Canadian: approximate dimensions 3 ½" x 1 5/8" x 3/16"
• English Monkey Tail: approximate dimensions 3 1/4" x 1 1/2" x 3/16"

What's Included:

• Hand forged 1095 high carbon steel striker
• 1 ft long slow match with snuffer tube
• 100% cotton rope treated with potassium nitrate (salt peter) to enhance spark catching ability and prolong the coal
• Each slow match has been twisted by hand from 100% cotton string
• Compact tin box (Altoid tin size)

How to Use:

You will need to char the end of the match prior to going afield. To protect the charred end just draw that end into the snuffer tube for future use.
